All persons employed as school and system leaders must complete 180 hours of Act 45/PIL continuing professional education every five years. These hours must be fulfilled in PDE-approved programs that address one or more of the eight PA school leadership standards.

Act 48 changes the requirements for maintaining an active Pennsylvania professional educator certificate. Students are responsible for filling out an Act 48 form per course that he or she wishes to have submitted for Act 48 credit. Students may only submit courses that are taken through Kutztown University on this website; he or she can do so by completing the form online or printing and mailing it.

Mentor teachers in various school districts host our students in the field during their student teaching semester. We pay them a stipend at the end of each semester and need their confidential/personal information in order to process the stipend payment.
